Founding
Braasi Industry is a family-run company based in Prague, founded by architects Eliška and Šimon in 2013. What began as a personal project to design and sew backpacks for themselves quickly evolved into a growing brand, driven by their passion for functional design, minimalism, and travel. Inspired by the clean aesthetics of 1980s climbing gear, Braasi backpacks blend practicality with timeless style.
Operating from their self-renovated workshop in Prague’s Holešovice district, Braasi crafts its products using locally sourced, high-quality materials. Their signature rolltop backpacks have gained a loyal following among cyclists, travelers, and urban explorers worldwide. Over the years, Braasi has expanded its offerings to include mini backpacks for kids, urban clothing, and even custom-designed bikes—always staying true to their ethos: less is more.

From Family House to Dream Factory
BRAASI's manufacturing journey began in Eliška’s family home. There, they transformed their apartment into a makeshift factory, with sewing machines taking over the dining table, fabric and leather cutting happening in the bedroom, and a packaging station set up on the couch. While this arrangement served them for a year, the increasing volume of orders prompted Eliška and Simon to recognise the need for expansion. Their search led them to an old, abandoned factory in Holešovice – one of Prague’s oldest industrial areas, originally used for aluminium casting moulds. They reimagined this space into their ideal workshop, a reflection of their shared passion for architecture and the creation of practical, durable, and highly functional rucksacks.
Today, BRAASI's factory encompasses a sewing workshop, a design and architectural office, a photography studio, spaces for events and workshops, and Tleskač’s workshop. This setup allows BRAASI to manage their entire production and delivery process in-house, from the initial design sketch right through to the making and packaging of their finished products.
